Terms of Service
Last updated: September 8, 2026
1. Who we are
TCL Academy ("TCL", "we", "us") provides online cybersecurity training — courses, hands-on Rooms, certifications, and Capture The Flag challenges — through this website and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or purchasing anything through the Service, you agree to these Terms.
2. Accounts
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Content, access, and pricing
Courses, Rooms, and certifications may be purchased individually (one-time payment, permanent access to that item) or via an all-access subscription (period-based access to all published content for the duration you've paid for). CTF challenges and the leaderboard are available as part of an account in good standing. Prices are shown at checkout and may change for future purchases; a change in price doesn't affect access you've already paid for.
4. Hands-on content and simulated sandboxes
Terminal and HTTP activities inside Rooms run entirely in a simulated sandbox — no real command execution, no real network calls, no live target infrastructure. Where a Room or certification instead links to a genuine external lab (a third-party platform like TryHackMe or Hack The Box) or a downloadable lab package (VM/OVA/ZIP), your use of that external platform or package is governed by that provider's own terms, in addition to these Terms for anything you submit back to us.
5. Certifications
A certification may combine a knowledge exam with a hands-on practical component and, where applicable, a written report reviewed by a human evaluator. Attempts, scoring thresholds, cooldown periods between attempts, and any integrity requirements are shown to you before you start an attempt and are binding once you agree to them.
6. Certificates, credentials, and badges
Certificates, certification credentials, and badges are issued on completing the relevant requirements — required lessons/quizzes for a course certificate, the full assessment for a certification credential, or a specific completion milestone for a badge. They reflect completion of our content and internal assessments; they are not a professional license or third-party accreditation unless explicitly stated on the credential itself.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to share your account, redistribute paid content, attempt to bypass quiz or exam integrity measures, attempt to use any Room or certification's simulated environment or any external lab it links to for anything other than the stated learning objective, or use the Service for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend access for violations of this section without a refund.
8. Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by Razorpay. See our Refund Policy for cancellation and refund terms.
9. Intellectual property
All course, Room, certification, and CTF content — text, video, challenge design, and associated materials — is owned by TCL or its instructors and licensed to you for personal, non-commercial learning use only. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or publicly share paid content, including challenge solutions, flags, or write-ups, without our written permission.
10. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TCL is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including any external lab platform or downloadable package linked from it.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in [City, State], India.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
